Maybe just gas...

It might just be gas, but I really don't care babies are so freakin cute when they smile. I finally got Kael kinda smiling on camera. I just love this little guy. It's been so fun being a mom even though he has had some late nights and really tried my patience with lack of sleep, I would still do it all over again. Kael has been doing good other than the poor kid has some pretty explosive gas movements. He is so loud! He has been so gassy and fussy the past week. Hopefully it'll get better soon for both our sakes. :) I never posted the maternity pictures that we did before Kael was born. They turned out so good. Our friend Jared Halbert did them for us and He did an awesome job. If you want pictures done I would totally recommend him. Anyways, thats all for now. Just trying to get ready for christmas. :)

Surviving

Braiden and Kael's first encounter

So we have been surviving being parents. It's been just over two weeks now and things are going pretty good. Just been chillin at home or at grandma's house trying to get ready for christmas. We went and picked out our christmas tree last night but we haven't started decorating it yet. Sad, I know. But sleep is our number one priority right now. :) My lil peanut is changing everyday and I just love spending all my time with him. He is such a good baby. Sleeps good, eats good, doesn't cry much either. I just love being a mom!!

He's Here!!!

I finally got the time to update my blog. I have been putting sleep before anything else the last couple days. I'm going to make this as short as I can cause I know everyone only wants to see pictures of Kael anyways. :) Labor was LONG..... a total of 24 hours! Yes seriously I'm not kidding. So I went into the doctor on Tuesday to do my final check up. If I wasn't progressing then we were going to schedule a date for my to come in and be induced. Yet again my blood pressure was off the charts, but this time it was really really high and it didn't drop with the whole laying on my side routine. So the doctor said he wanted me to go straight over to the hospital and they were going to get give me some meds to thin me out and then the next day they would start my induction. I was a little bummed because I wanted to go home and get all my hospital stuff and I just felt really unprepared. So the meds they gave me were to thin me out and they had to stay there for 12 hrs, so we had to stay in the hospital over night, then they would check me in the morning to see if it worked. That's what we did, and it worked. So they started me on Pitocin to get my labor started. They also started me on some Magnesium Sulfate so I wouldn't have seizures because of my blood pressure... and they were having me take a pill to try and drop my blood pressure. It started out where I was having contractions but I wasn't really dilating so the doc said at the end of the day if I hadn't shown any progress we were probably going to do a C section. Well at six I had dilated a little bit so they said in a couple hrs they were going to check me again. I ended up doing this all night all the way to a nine!! A freakin nine!! Oh and yes I got an epidural that wore off twice because of how long my labor was. It wore off first at about a five and they gave me a stronger dose and again at a nine. So they waited for another hour to see if I would finish dilating and I didn't so they rushed me to the OR and I had my C section at 4:41 am on Thursday, November 20th. Let me remind you I went into the hospital on Tuesday at 4 pm and started Labor at 6 am on Wednesday and I have been in bed this whole time. Fun, Fun. The reason, other than this was my first baby, it was so long was the Magnesium was a muscle relaxer and it was relaxing my uterus while the Pitocin was a suppose to make my uterus contract. So my poor body was just so confused on what it was suppose to do. And the reason I stopped at a nine was because Kael's head was turned the wrong way probably because I had been in bed for so long. The doc said if he had his head the right way I wouldn't have had the C section. After all that Kael Nicklas Rogers was born, weighing 7 lbs 3 oz and 20 and 3/4 inches long and just perfect as can be. The most important thing through all of it, was Kael never showed any signs of stress. He was a heathy happy boy the whole time. We got to go home on Saturday afternoon and we have been doing awesome and trying to get used to our new lives. Thanks to everyone who have helped and supported us. We couldn't have done it without you. And now the pictures you have all been waiting for.
