Rogers' Reunion 2009

I'm really behind on my updates. We had our annual Rogers' Reunion in the beginning of this month. I really love when we go camping, the kids are seriously crazy but it's so fun to be with the whole family. Chase and I got a nice little surprise when we got there too. Ali and her family were able to come this year. They haven't been able to make it the last couple years so it was awesome to have the WHOLE family there. I love how big Chase's family is. Everything is always so chaotic because there is so many of us, but I wouldn't want it any other way. It makes it so much fun! Anyways this year we brought the ward's canoes, that was really fun! We had the zip line and me and Chase did some hiking. We were busy but it wasn't so busy that we weren't able to relax. So fun, and I look forward to next year!!

Late Nite Status Report

So I figured I would give those who actually read about my fun Doctor Visits an update. I'm up late again with nothing to do that won't wake up Kael or Chase. So anyway I had another doctors appointment with the Urologist. So let's just say, if you plan on being a Urologist, DON'T! Ha, ha, not unless you plan on having people love-hate you. Some people, particularly old folks, will most likely love you because you will help fix all their old-people-body-parts-that-have-seen-their-day-and-are-falling-apart problems. Yes, the joys of getting old. ha ha. Others, like myself, will hate going and have anxiety every time the doc calls or you just hear the word urology. Anyways, so I make Chase come in the room this time, because all we are supposed to be doing is having a chit chat about my 'options.' So the doc asks me the same questions he has asked me before at previous visits and I tell him the same thing I did before. I have had like a bajillion infections and I want it fixed or want to know why? He continues to tell me the things I already know because he told me them. "Your bladder is working too hard. Your bladder isn't emptying all the way.... blah, blah, blah." So he says he asks me about my sex life and how many times a year I've had infections my entire life. I tell him.... "LIGHTBULB".... He says 'Oh well lets just leave it alone then.'....... WHAT?! Okay, so now I have to resist the urge to punch him in the face. ha, ha. No not really but I was thinking about all the pain I went thru for the past couple months and he tells me "don't do anything." Grrr. But wait there is a good thing. The last time he look inside my bladder he said it wasn't emptying and that there was still a bunch left inside. So he wanted to check it again before we talked about 'options' again. So he said looks good and we shouldn't worry. He said with my history, it's not linked to my sex life, (whew, thats a relief, ha ha, just kidding) and I wasn't having a big problem before my pregnancy for their to be a concern. AND, dun da da duuunnnn, the dilation we did previously made it so that my bladder is emptying completely. Whoop, Whoop. So he said unless I continue to get a lot of infections, we are done working on me. YAAAAAAAYYYY!!!! He continued to tell me what we would do if that happens but I was so relieved to hear that because this was really starting to take a toll on me. I mean, ok, it's not like I was dying or something but it was really depressing feeling like your body was broken and not knowing how to fix it. I went visiting teaching tonight and it was my turn to give the message. I was reading it and I received the comfort I have been so longing for. Not from the bladder issues but with life. We are living in crazy times right now and I have been feeling really scared for all the people that I love. The message talks about how to apply the gospel in our lives daily and WHY. The why is what hit home for me. I've heard this message so many times before and I love it, and it's so funny that just reading it again brought comfort. Elder Robert D. Hales said, "We must live the gospel in such a way that we will have the Spirit to ever be with us. If we live worthily, the Spirit will always be with us. We can then teach by the Spirit. .... The reason we pray, study the scriptures, have good friends, and live the gospel through obedience to the commandments is so that when-not if, but when-the trials come, we are ready." What an awesome message! The Lord is going to give us trials, but nothing we can't handle. And the reason we are suppose to go to the temple, live worthy, read scriptures, pray, is so we can take on those trials head on. We can do it people, we can conquer Satan and make it back to our Father in Heaven!

Sorry to be all spiritual, and tell my testimony, but I figured I was feeling great tonight because of it and wanted to end my gripe fest about my retarded body on a more positive note. I don't want any one to think I'm this unhappy little person, who thinks I have nothing to be happy about. I don't think that at all. I'm so thankful for my wonderful life and all the blessings I have received. Thanks for reading, I think I'm tired now. Nite.

End of Summer Lake Trip

So we've been busy little bees that last month and I haven't really told you about all the fun things we've been doing. We went to the lake and seriously it was one of the funnest trips I've been on. That's not even a real word but it just fits this trip. I seriously love, love, love the lake. I hope someday we will be blessed enough to own a boat so that my kids can enjoy it as much as I have!! My family has owned a boat since I was 18 months old, so going to the lake has been a big thing that my family does together. Every so often I would ask my dad if he would take me and some friends out. Since Chase and I have been married we haven't really gotten to go that often with the family because Chase's work schedule differs from the family. Anywho, Chase has been wanting to go so I figured it was time to call daddy and ask if he wouldn't mind playing chaperone for us. He he, I felt like a little kid again. I know my dad would probably trust Chase with just taking the boat but Chase (and me) wouldn't even consider it because if there was any kind of accident... ugh. No way! Besides I love having my dad with us, he's so fun!! So dad said, 'heck yes!' and we called some friends and off we went. It worked out perfect because most people just drove themselves and met us out there, and then the were free to leave when they needed. Kevin and Nicole were so lucky to stay there ALL DAY with us. Ha, ha. My brother showed up late with a couple of his friends at the end of the day when we were suppose to go home so we ended up staying longer than planned. But we still had fun though. Just a little fried from being in the sun for 12 hours.

I love this picture of Kevin because he fit in a child's life vest, he's holding the flag and trying to get a hold of friends meeting us there. So multi-talented.

Go Dad!! Whoop, Whoop!
Who says your too old to surf?!
Yes that is my lil' pink marshmellow man with Grandpa knee boarding!! He was such a crack up because he just sat there and stared around like 'do da do, what we doin' grandpa?' My dad was so excited to take him out on his first ride ever! He, he. I was a little older when they took me out but my siblings and cousin's were about his age. Such fun memories. I'm looking for the picture of me and my dad knee boarding. When I find it we can compare. :)

Ha, ha. I look like a greasy eighties chic in this picture but it's such a cute picture of Kael trying to be a bad A like his uncle Mitchell. :)

The trip was so fun!! We surfed, swam, ate lunch, cliff jumped, swam, wakeboarded, knee boarded, swam, surfed some more! It seriously was awesome and Kael did great too. I love that he loves the water and the great outdoors. It makes trips like these so much easier.

Save the Date!!!

So it's only the middle of September but for me this is normal. As soon as it hits September I start thinking about Halloween!!!!! I know I'm weird but I seriously love, love, love Halloween. I read somewhere that it is one of the top three party holidays!! (New Year's and the Super Bowl were the other two) Ha ha, so at least I know that I'm not the only one. Anyways, I'm so glad that my husband loves this holiday just as much as I do. So we are planning another BIG BASH again this year! Whoop, whoop! We are going to do it the day before Halloween on Friday the 30th because we want to be able to attend other people's parties this year and of course to be able to take Kael trick-or-treating!! This will be his very, very first Halloween!! Yay! Also, who wouldn't want TWO opportunities to dress up in a Halloween costume. Ha, ha. ME!!!! This year I'm hoping to put together the murder mystery game, like Clue in real life. Ah I'm so excited!! Anyways, so remember Friday, October 30th we will be having a big halloween party! Make sure you mark you calendar's and be there.... or be a flake which ever. Just kidding. No but seriously come! You won't be disappointed!
